Working Test
Anne, one of our trainers works her Flatcoated Retriever Smudge and this year has started entering him in Working Tests. A Gundog working tests is a competitive event that simulates shooting day conditions, where the dogs and their handlers are assessed on their ability to perform tasks like retrieving, hunting, working to directional commands, all without live game being shot. On March 23rd Anne entered a working test in Devon and won Novice Dog/Novice Handler which is a massive achievement, particularly as this was the first test of the year! Well done Anne and Smudge!
Wessex team challenge
In July two members of Christchurch Gundog Club, Gordon and Anne, entered the Inter Counties FLATCOAT team challenge and achieved equal third overall.
Anne also won a first in the individual challenge, huge congratulations to you both.
CaniCross in Italy
Graeme Miller who is a member of our club competed recently in a CaniCross event in Italy, CaniCross is a cross country running race which you do with you dog, Grahame competed with one of his beautiful pointers, Chester, and by the photos both enjoyed the event hugely.
